CoD:WW comMod v1.6 ...err v1.7

England4eva aka 'e4E from European n00b Bashers Multi-Gaming Clan, has updated comMod again and then yet again. 

"We are today releasing v1.7 48 hours after the release of v1.6 - This is a hotfix release and fixes a serious sniper/shotgun limiting issue which would render the mod useless for official competition purposes.

It is advised that ALL clans/leagues etc upgrade to this latest stable release to take advantage of these important improvements.

We appologise (sic) for the inconvenience caused in such a quick release after v1.6 but this was a fix that could not really wait. Please refer to earlier news releases and documents enclosed for a list of v1.6 changes." - 'e4E

 

comMod  allows clans and leagues to play fun and exciting clan wars (Public modes are also supported).

'e4E is now proclaiming that comMod is the "number one war modification for CoD:WW, there really is every reason to get playing with comMod."

Hopefully, more players will volunteer to test the mod out in the future and help 'e4E ensure that inevitable issues like this get sorted out prior to full release in the future.

V1.7 *Hotfix*:- 

- Fixed sniper/shotgun limiting bug
- Fixed player left icons to remove overlaps on double figure players
- Re-Introduced sound files from 1.5 for improved sound on planting/defusing annoucements etc
- Added the ability to control killcam on/off in public modes

Here was the statement for 'e4E's now defunct v1.6 release.

"In this release we have concentrated on improving the overall security of the mod with inbuilt checks to assure no files have been altered, this allows clans and players to play knowing that no underhand altering has been made to the set rules.

A few options have been opened up to allow users the possibily of customising their game more than in past versions. A few more weapons tweaks should make this this most balanced version yet based on user feedback."

V1.6 Changelog :-

- Added server sided security checks so certain crucial dvars can`t be edited without warning
 aswell as warning against settings like devmap etc.
- Added IWD check to warn if comMod files have been altered
- Added mod version and mode in strat time & round end
- Added the possibility for players to enable shadows (disabled by default)
- Added the ability to name .log files in server.cfg rather than mod controlled
- Added the ability to control friendly fire on/off in public modes in the server.cfg
- Added comMod tips on map loading screens
- Added Deathmatch mode text
- Added the ability to change your weapon 5 seconds into each round if no shots have been fired
- Added required 1.4 map files

- Fixed a bug in some custom maps where the player became invisible
- Fixed a bug on the first half if the time ran out on a timeout then there was no halftime RUP mode
- Fixed sniper & shotgun limiting where the weapons became unavailable
- Fixed bug on Castle, Suburban, Hangar & Asylum in which the bomb site wasn`t visable from long range
 causing players to be clearly visable when planting etc.

- Changed "rifles" only mode to bolt rifles only (semi-rifles now disabled)

- Removed "create squad" button on menus
- Removed rank icon on scoreboard
- Removed player freeze on scores screen, allowing free movement while scores displayed
- Removed strat time in public modes
- Removed Destroy & Defend the objective sounds

- Increased the recoil of Type 99 LMG, DP28, SVT40 & Gewehr
- Increased torso & upper/lower arms, lower legs, hands & feet damage of SVT40 & Gewehr
- Increased the torso & upper arms damage of Magnum pistol
- Increased head damage of M1 Carbine

- Reduced the range of BAR & DP28 by 10%
- Reduced the range of SVT40 & Gewehr by 10%
- Reduced the clip size of DP28 from 47 to 30
- Reduced the damage slightly of bolt rifles to stop 1 shot kills through thick walls
- Reduced the damage to the head/neck of BAR
- Reduced the recoil and slight range of STG-44
- Reduced the size of the mod.ff file by 135k

- All game modes accepted in both match and public mode
- Softcore & Hardcore modes
- 1v1 & 2v2 modes in all game modes
- Ability to set timelimits in public modes and all game modes except SD in match modes
- Unique small size files with client downloads at a minimum (236k client download)
- Generic plant sounds with ambient background noise/graphics removed
- Optimised hit damage and recoil on all weapons for a more competitive feel
- Plus much much more!
