This week we interview freelance gaming writer Mark Brown, who just
recently wrote on the future of PC Gaming on the very well-known tech
site, wired.co.uk. The article was titled:
Hacked off. How PC Game modders are evolving
Given how small the PC platform gaming market, it’s surprising
nowadays to see stories like this hitting the mainstream press.
Nevertheless, it is gratifying to see. Mark even mentions “X4″, the
general purpose CoD4 mod worked on by perennial BASH co-host PST*Joker.
The article is quite objective and very interesting because it hints
at a road map for some in the modding community who are frustrated with
the current state of gaming as it restricts their interests.
In the cast, we ask Mark his opinion on the direction of PC modding
and gaming.
He discusses the trends in the latest blockbuster games to restrict
modding. Is this an aberration or has the trend reversed? Will
blockbuster game developers continue to allow their games to be modded?
If not, what will happen to the PC game modder?
